Research Interests

In the long term, to understand characteristics of GOOD fruit and to find quality markers for use in genomic selection (GS) and marker assisted selection (MAS) using genomics, metabolomics and consumer panel. The current projects include:

1 Reveal metabolic genes and pathways that determine tea aroma quality via multi-omic analysis of tea leaves;

2 Study the genetics of mandarin and strawberry aroma volatiles and build MAS and GS systems for flavor;

3 Breed pummelo fruits with pink and blood color and better flavor and understand the genetics of critical traits.
